This game seems to be all the rage these days It's all my friends seem to ever talk about I haven't even played the first one yet. I do like Bioware as a developer though. I've played both Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect, both being made by them, and loved it so I get the feeling I'll enjoy Dragon Age too. But then there's the whole 'EA Games' thing. And since EA has a habit of destroying some game franchises (Command and Conquer, Need for Speed, etc) I have mixed feelings on whether or not I should check this game out. So, your thoughts?

I don't think EA interferes all that much with Bioware on their games, that I know of. I enjoyed the first one dearly and plan to get my hands on the second one as soon as I can afford it. Or when I can bully Cindy into buying it for me.

you'll get more flies with honey than with vinegar, Zira I'm not a big fan of bioware, I'm a fan but not a big one. That being said they've been making the same damn game since Knight of the Old Republic. Same formula, same characters, same everything. I got all I could want of Dragon Age 2 from playing Dragon Age: Origins and watching a mean reviewer make fun of Dragon Age 2.

I don't see it. Although I only play two video game series of theirs, Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect, I didn't think they were that similar to one another.

Similar characters and moral choice system. The Bioware games follow story based Cliches, and all of them have moral choice systems that revolve around absolutisms, I.E. you get one ending if you're christ on a cracker and you get the other if you're satan in a sandwich. This big chart helps show the creative process for bioware plots

I agree with clash A Big Ork. Bioware is kind of like the Stephen King or Tim Burton of video games. You seen one then you've seen them all. That said I still quite enjoyed their games and the similarities don't ruin my overall gaming experience.

They got a winning formula that earns them money and fans and there's legit effort in their games, though at the same time Dragon Age 2 has a massive amount of lackluster storytelling since this game has the standard overarching fantasy world in peril plot as a cliffhanger ending (OOPS SPOILER) opposed to actually having it as the plot to the game.
